Medical disclaimer
What this site is, and what it deliberately is not, stated plainly rather than buried in a terms-of-use document nobody reads.
These tools do not replace clinical judgement
Every calculator on this site reports and interprets a published score. None of them diagnoses a condition, recommends a treatment, or tells you what to do next. A score is one input among many a clinician weighs — history, examination, imaging, the patient in front of them — and it is never sufficient on its own.
If you are a patient reading a result here, take it to a qualified clinician for interpretation in the context of your own case, rather than acting on it directly.
Verify before you rely on a result
Every scoring formula on this site is stated in full on the instrument’s own page specifically so it can be checked. We test each calculator against blank, partial, and extreme input, but software has bugs and we would rather you catch one than trust one blindly.
If a result looks wrong, recompute it by hand from the published formula, or compare it against the source publication linked on the page. If you find a discrepancy, please tell us — see Contact.
Thresholds are population-specific, not universal
A minimal clinically important difference, patient acceptable symptom state, or normative value is only as good as the population it was derived in. An MCID measured after total knee arthroplasty does not automatically apply to a young athlete after ACL reconstruction. Every threshold on this site states the population and follow-up interval it came from — check that it actually matches the case you are applying it to.
No patient data is collected by these calculators
Scoring happens in your browser. Answers you enter are not transmitted to a server or stored by us. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail, including what a shared results link does and does not contain.
Instrument copyright status varies by page
Some instruments are freely reproducible; others are licensed by their original developers and are not reproduced here in full. Each tool page states its copyright status plainly, and the Instrument Licensing page lists every instrument’s status in one place. That statement reflects our own research and is not a legal opinion — confirm independently before any commercial or research use.
